Trueflow SE Flexo Series is a key component of Screen’s Packaging Solutions with complete JDF and PDF capabilities. Available in fully automated and advanced workflow packages, Trueflow SE Flexo Series has been adapted to the unique production requirements of label, envelope, flexible packaging, folding carton and converting companies.

Trueflow SE Flexo Series combines a host of powerful built-in features and new functions that streamlines print management and simplifies workflow processes. By capitalizing on the strengths of PDF for content definition and the JDF standard for job ticketing and process control, Trueflow SE Flexo Series significantly improves production reliability and profitability in flexo and letterpress printing environments.

Features of End-to-End Automation

Trueflow SE Flexo - Full Automation allows for complete JDF-enabled automated workflow from start to finish. From a file transfer upload/download off your company’s website, Trueflow SE Flexo moves your job directly to advanced preflighting, auto-notification, rip, trap, impose, collaborative workflow-generated proofing approval, integration with inkjet proofing and output to digital imaging. With industryleading 4,800 dpi resolution and Flexo Dot Hi-Res Hybrid Screening including Multi-Screening, your job is directed to postpress routing, cutting and folding hardware, all while reporting back and forth within a JDF-enabled MIS system.

Trueflow SE Flexo - Advanced allows for JDF/PDF workflow management, preflight, RIP, trap, impose, soft proof, integrate with inkjet proofing, output to digital imaging with industry-leading 4,800 dpi resolution and Flexo Dot Hi-Res Hybrid Screening. This workflow can be upgraded with many of the features available in Trueflow SE Flexo - Full Automation.

Trueflow SE Flexo - PageFit Advanced allows companies who already have an existing workflow and can integrate via 1-bit TIFF files or Hi-Res PDF files the added functionality of Screen’s industry-leading 4,800 dpi resolution and Flexo Dot Hi-Res Hybrid Screening.

Screen’s Pre4m layout module subscribes to the latest JDF folding imposition templates for ease of integration with JDF-enabled MIS software. PageFit Layout allows for ease of arranging images prior to output to digital imaging.

Screen’s PDF TrapEditor is a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat Professional enabling users to control detailed trap settings and provide screening instructions for each object after auto-trapping in Trueflow SE Flexo Series.

Screen’s Multi-Screening module makes it possible to mix different types of screening methods on a single job to bring out the best in each object being printed and take full advantage of the highest resolution and screening available in the industry.

Screen’s Flexo Dot Hi-Res Hybrid Screening unlocks the power and magic of true 4,800 dpi resolution with screening that provides for smooth vignettes and fine detail. 23,040,000 pixels of data to create each dot allow for printing down to 0%.

EQUIOS Online, the latest generation of Screen’s automated online proofing and approval solution, allows users to upload digital files into the prepress production workflow, proof layouts, and permit online collaboration and approval of final pages prior to Digital Imaging output. Screen’s JDF-MIS connectivity module allows for reporting back and forth trackable job information to JDF-enabled MIS software.

Advanced/PageFit Advanced

Trueflow SE Flexo - Advanced utilizes the native PDF-rendering technology of the Adobe PDF Print Engine 2 core. It automates all the essential tasks required for plate output on Screen FX Series flexo/letterpress imaging devices, such as preflight, OPI, automated trapping, RGB-to-CMYK conversion and imposition.

Trueflow SE Flexo - Advanced also allows soft-proofing and output to digital imagers. Trueflow SE Flexo - Advanced can be upgraded with many of the options included in Trueflow SE Flexo - Full Automation for greater functionality.

Trueflow SE Flexo - Advanced comes standard with Screen’s Flexo Dot Hi-Res Hybrid Screening. Flexo Dot supports the maximum 4,800 dpi resolution of Screen FX Series imagers and produces more consistent relief patterns and natural-looking gradations in highlight areas. Flexo Dot gradations are comparable to those produced with offset litho printing equivalent to and above 200 lpi.

PageFit Advanced features connectivity via TIFF files and/or Hi-Res PDF files created by any workflow system allowing for the flexibility of imaging with the ability to support Screen’s powerful and industry-leading 4,800 dpi resolution and Flexo Dot Hi-Res Hybrid Screening. Additional image adjustments can be made easily by cropping or manual image placement for plate fitting. Once the layout is confirmed, PageFit Advanced transmits files directly to the PlateRite FX series device for plate output.

PaSharp Packaging Tools

PaSharp is a suite of prepress productivity tools for the flexo, packaging, gravure and design markets. The PaSharp suite offers professional trapping tools and specialized step and repeat functions for packaging, as well as a series of editing tools that enable prepress operators to boost efficiency and produce higher quality work.
