Wide range of input formats: PostScript Levels 1 to 3, PDF up to 1.7, PDF/X-1a, PDF/X-4, EPS, TIFF 6.0, JPEG, XPS, HD Photo, JFIF and GIF can all be processed. An option is available to output PostScript and PDF files as
Advanced screening capabilities: Harlequin Precision Screening is standard with HQ-510 RIP Ver. 8.3, delivering smooth gradations and a remarkable level of fine detail. Optional screening methods include Spekta 2 hybrid AM/FM screening, CRS, AlphaLogic Screening, Harlequin Chain Screening, Harlequin Dispersed Screening and Harlequin Micro Screening. Spekta hybrid screening especially for newspaper prepress is available as well.
Improved color management: The color management engine improves functionality, including installing and processing ICC profiles instead of converting the profiles to PostScript. It also gives better color control and treats text as an object that can be tagged with its own rendering intent.
JDF Enabler support: JDF Enabler allows JDF job tickets to move through the workflow from creation to preflight, prepress and production. These JDF job tickets outline the processes required for that job and how it should be handled.
Multi-threaded rendering: The multi-threaded rendering feature helps remove RIP bottlenecks in handling raster data and takes full advantage of the new Duo and Quad core processor technologies.
PDF fixed background page feature: This page feature decreases processing time by RIP’ing a background that is used repeatedly in the same document only once.
PDF retained raster: HQ-510 RIP Ver. 8.3 expands the number of devices that can run PDF retained raster. The PDF retained raster feature accelerates the processing of variable printing jobs, even if they are delivered as basic PDF files instead of a specialist variable data printing format. Shared image data is identified and rendered only once, then returned to the RIP process and merged with variable content when required.
Enfocus-certified status check: A preflight check of PDF documents before sending them to the RIP confirms that PDF files are certified. Files are checked against preloaded Enfocus PitStop preflight profiles included with the RIP.
